St Anna

St Anna's is a beautiful 13th Century church and you are very welcome to make a visit. Our building is open throughout the week (during daylight ours) so you can pop in and admire the wonderful interior or sit in peace for a moment of reflection or prayer.
We are on a very popular walking route with many people ending up at Wall Hills Hillfort (Thornbury). This is an iron-age camp covering about 22 acres.

If you are walking passed on a Sunday you would, of course, be more than welcome at our services too.

St Anna's features a Norman doorway in the North wall and evidence of the thickness of this wall can be seen when viewing the tiny Norman window from the inside. The Norman Font has a complex frieze of lozenges. During the 13th century, the massive tower with its narrow slit openings was built. The blocked arcade once opened into a side aisle used as a Lady Chapel. An original bell frame carries three bells of 14th/15th century.
