Built in 1628 as a Chapel of Ease and became the parish of Hoole in 1641. Constructed out of Dutch brick originally used as ballast in transport ships plying their trade is indeed a very peaceful place to visit or to worship in. Jeremiah Horrocks was the Bible Clerk at St Michael's when he first predicted the Transit of Venus in 1639. Some of the woodwork and furniture in church is 17th Century as is the carved stone font.Our church is open to everyone from 9.30-4.30 daily (approximately)
