St David's Bridge Baptist Chapel

Baptist
Congregation: 7 adults (3 under 18)

We are a small Calvinistic Baptist congregation, holding to the Baptist Confession of Faith, 1689 and the 35 Articles of the Gospel Standard.
We are reformed and evangelistic. The preaching is both expository and experiential, setting forth the vital necessity of experiencing the truth in our hearts and bearing evidence of the grace of God in our lives.

THE HOLY BIBLE and the message it contains is central to our worship. We receive it as God's Word, without error and the complete revelation of God to humanity forming the sole basis for our faith and practice. We preach Christ Crucified.

We welcome all to come and worship with us. Please dress modestly in what is best clothes for you, becoming the House of the God of heaven and of earth. We ask women that regularly worship with us to wear a head covering (hat) as taught in 1 Corinthians 11:1-16
Our worship is formal, reverent and traditional, with prominence given to Bible reading, prayer and preaching of the Word

We are Strict Baptists, which means that we practice believer's baptism and restricted communion, only those who have professed faith in Jesus Christ and are then baptised, being members of our church or those holding the same faith and practice, may be admitted to take the Lord's Supper. The Lord's Supper is held once a month after one of the Lord's Day services.

History:
The Church was first formed on 20th April 1780 and moved to the present building, converted from two cottages, in the summer of 1787. By God's grace we have continued to the present day, preaching the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The present Pastor is the 10th in the history of the Church.
